This dramatic oil on canvas depicts the tribulations and triumphs of seafaring discovery. The artist, M. Pepetier, was a notable understudy of famed Catalan artist Jose Maria Sert. Set in a new wood frame, the painting captures the raw intensity of a ship setting sail into the unknown. Heavy wear with some paint loss and tears in the canvas.
